About Us
Ayurveda is a
Sanskrit word coming from “Ayur” (Life) and “Veda” (Knowledge). This is
an age old traditional system of Indian medicines widely acclaimed
today all over the world. Attributed to Lord Dhanvantari, the physician
to Gods in Hindu mythology, this Ayurveda has been practiced for more
than 5000 years. At The Zandu Pharmaceutical Works Limited, this age
old system and tradition is followed as given in Ayurveda to bring in its benefits to the common man. Naturally, this is being done after
conducting research and development and blending the traditional
methods with model medical science. Zandu, established in 1910, is at the helm of Ayurvedic healthcare industries, especially in Ayurvedic Herbal Formulations. At present, Zandu is manufacturing
more than 350 products and catering to various therapeutic segments.
Zandu is not only a manufacturer of Ayurvedic Herbal Remedies but also
an Exporter and Supplier of various herbal raw materials and extracts
throughout the world. Zandu is having a very wide range of quality
Ayurvedic Herbal Formulations and allied products and does have a strong presence in the domestic market as well as
abroad - Europe, America, African countries, Asian Pacific countries,
Russia and Middle East countries.
Zandu’s
manufacturing plants have GMP certification as well as ISO 9001:2000
certification. The Company is having four manufacturing plants –
Mumbai, Sanjan (Maharashtra), Vapi (Gujarat) and Masat (Silvasa). The
new plant of the company is being developed at Pant Nagar at Uttaranchal.

Our Quality Control and R&D ActivitiesZandu is having the

state of art instrumentation, equipment and machinery to conduct
original research, produce new formulations and innovations in herbal
medicines, coupled with quality control & assurance.Zandu’s Research
& Development Laboratory is recognized by the Department of Science
& Technology of the Government of India.Zandu is having
ISO-9001-2000 certification for Quality Management. Our equipped
Quality Control Laboratory can carry out all the tests given in the
Pharmacopeias. All the raw materials, WIP and finished goods are
checked compulsorily prior to releasing them to shop-floors or markets. All
the Quality Control persons are well trained, learned and approved in
